EBI was retained by a regional lender to conduct an ASHRAE Level II Energy Audit for a 226-unit apartment complex, comprised of nineteen buildings consisting of 4 three-story apartment buildings, 13 two-story apartment buildings, as well as a clubhouse and storage building, totaling 242,904 square feet of rentable space in Texas.
New England Biolabs (NEB) retained EBI Consulting to perform services to achieve carbon neutral operations for a 220,000 square foot laboratory building, and various buildings located on the campus. The first phase of the project consisted of understanding the current carbon footprint created by NEB by performing Energy Audits, Energy Models, and Carbon Footprint Calculations. These services helped identify the current carbon footprint of the campus, and to further understand all opportunities to achieve energy efficiency.
The HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology’s new building in Huntsville, Alabama is 104,000 SF of office and laboratory space. When it comes to energy efficiency, knowledge is power – especially with increasing regulations regarding carbon emissions and other climate challenges. Energy benchmarking, the process of assessing where your building’s energy efficiency falls in line with other buildings of similar size and purpose, gives property owners the ability to make improvements where necessary, find ways to reduce waste and costs, and improve overall property value.
It’s all too common to spend the first year occupying a building troubleshooting the various issues that arise, wasting time, energy, and money. Commissioning (Cx) can ensure a well-delivered building with lower operational and maintenance costs from day one.
