The University of North Carolina at Charlotte required the renovation of the existing 92,176-square-foot engineering building, Smith Hall. Smith Hall was originally constructed in 1965 and underwent an expansion in 1983, and then a renovation to include a controls upgrade in 2007.
The renovation project consists of providing retro-commissioning services and working with the design team to ensure that new mechanical, HVAC, and plumbing systems are in conformance with project design and intent through the Planning, Investigation, Analysis, and Reporting Phases.
