Each month the EBI Green Team presents the Green Star Award to an EBI employee or a group of EBI employees. It's an award that recognizes employees for their sustainability efforts. Being sustainable at EBI isn't limited to just office-based efforts, it's integral to everyday life.
The Green Team would like to congratulate this month’s Green Star Award winners: Brandon Weber, Frank Cook, Maura McCaffery, and Mike McGeehan! Brandon Weber is a Senior Account Executive in our Real Estate department, Frank Cook is a National Program Director of Construction Services, Maura McCaffery is the Senior Counsel of the Real Estate Department, and Mike McGeehan is the Executive Vice President of Real Estate Services.
Brandon, Frank, Maura, and Mike were nominated for the Green Star Award for their sustainable and creative practices. Earlier this year, there was a mix up with a vendor that resulted in a surplus of reusable plastic straws. Instead of throwing these seemingly useless straws away, Brandon, Frank, Maura, and Mike decided to use them.
Brandon will be using his straws for fishing rigs (sample picture is below), Frank will be using his to mix epoxy for his water ski building hobby, Maura gave her straws to her daughter for an arts and crafts project, and Mike will be giving his straws to his children.
We would like to congratulate Brandon, Frank, Maura, and Mike for being sustainable and thinking outside of the box on how to reuse these materials!
