BURLINGTON, MA (April 22, 2022) – EBI Consulting is pleased to celebrate Earth Day today, and every day, through our work building a greener and more resilient future.
This year’s global theme brings a call to action: “Invest in our planet.” EBI Consulting is committed to helping clients put Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) and sustainability at the forefront of their mission. We have invested in expanding our ESG business unit led by Scot Kuhn, Senior Vice President of ESG.
Traditionally, EBI offers environmental, energy and sustainability services such as commissioning and site investigation remediation, but our ESG team developed a new line of ESG Consulting services for clients. Over the last year, we helped clients:
- Evaluate portfolio climate resiliency and develop climate change mitigation strategies through Climate Change Risk Assessments
- Plan and pursue corporate ESG goals through ESG Checklists
- Prepare for changes to local and national environmental regulations through events, webinars and content, such as our BERDO/BEUDO webinar, overview of changes to the ASTM E1527 standard for Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) and climate disclosures implemented by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commissions (SEC).
When clients choose to work with EBI to improve their own practices, they are also directly making a positive impact on the environment. Through EBI’s partnership with One Tree Planted, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to global reforestation efforts, each completed Phase I ESA and Energy Audit results in a tree planted. We are excited to report that we are on track to have planted nearly 10,000 trees since announcing the partnership last year. Reforestation efforts we have supported with these donations include: wildfire restoration in California, Oregon and Montana, planting trees in Chippewa National Forest in Minnesota to conserve wildlife and cultural heritage, and supporting restoration in our own community along the Merrimack River Watershed in New Hampshire and Massachusetts.
In line with helping clients improve their ESG performance, EBI Consulting continually strives to be a better corporate citizen and support causes advancing the pursuit of a greener world. Last summer, EBI officially partnered with GRESB, a leading ESG benchmark for real estate, and in January 2022, EBI Consulting was formally accepted to the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC). EBI joins 12,000 companies in endorsing the Ten Principles of the UNGC and working to advance the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
Contributing to environmental well-being in the built and natural environments has been at the core of our mission since our founding over 30 years ago. Earth Day provides an opportunity to reflect on how we can positively impact our communities every day, as well as the world around us. We are committed to protecting and creating value for our people, our clients and our communities.
