The project included the planning and redevelopment of an underutilized site in the Fresh Pond area of Cambridge into a vibrant, transit-oriented multi-family urban residential development consisting of approximately 60 apartment units and over 5,000 square feet of commercial space.
EBI’s project responsibilities included the preliminary due diligence and feasibility analysis, conceptual planning, design and permitting and preparation of construction level design documents and specifications. Design responsibilities included site layout, grading, drainage design and utility layout including design of Low Impact Design elements and Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO) storage. Additionally, EBI designed the site, including parking, sidewalks and accessible routes in accordance with MAAB and ADA regulations. EBI collaborated with the various project team members and the City of Cambridge staff and construction team members to ensure successful coordination and construction oversight with concurrent design and construction of a City of Cambridge CSO removal project immediately adjacent to the Project.
