LEED (EB) Certification Project Management

Existing commercial real estate stock accounts for approximately 30% of the total energy and over 60% of the total electricity consumption in the United States; more than the industrial or transportation sectors. Given the rising costs in electricity seen in many parts of the United States today, building owners and managers are increasingly paying attention to the energy efficiency and sustainability elements of building operations and maintenance plans. In many cases, building owners have committed to retrofit existing buildings with energy-efficient mechanical systems, efficient lighting technology, and water-conserving fixtures. The most recognized guidance for sustainable building operations and maintenance is the USGBC's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Reference Guide for Green Building Operations and Maintenance.

EBI's network of talented and diverse LEED Accredited Professionals represent many key elements of sustainable operations and maintenance, including architecture, structural and mechanical engineering, environmental engineering, and environmental science. Our staff include LEED APs who have passed the Existing Buildings specialty exam and who have earned the new AP O+M specialty designation. Our knowledge of the Existing Building rating systems - version 2.0, Existing Buildings Operations + Maintenance (EBOM), and LEED 2009 - is rivaled by very few in the sustainable consulting industry. Our staff have served as Subject Matter Experts for the Green Building Certification Institute in the development and beta-testing of the AP O+M specialty accreditation examination and have participated in the certification process for several buildings under the 2.0 and EBOM programs.
