Energy Star Certification
High-performance buildings deserve to be recognized, and one of the most recognizable labels of building performance is the Energy Star label. According to the Energy Star website, “An ENERGY STAR qualified facility meets strict energy performance standards set by EPA and uses less energy, is less expensive to operate, and causes fewer greenhouse gas emissions than its peers.”
Buildings registered through EPA’s Portfolio Manager which receive a rating of 75 or higher are eligible to receive the Energy Star label. The Energy Star program requires verification of your submittal by a licensed Professional Engineer, who is required to complete a data checklist, verify that all fuel sources have been accounted for, verify basic building information, and sign off on the Statement of Energy Performance. EBI can provide data management and professional engineer verification services to help your facility earn this prestigious award.
